Westpfalz Clinic
Five new 32-bed care units
Kaiserslautern, February 2014 – Redesigned as part of the second phase of the comprehensive general refurbishment of the Westpfalz clinic, ward blocks III and IV have now been completed.
“Alongside the completion of the new ward blocks the building measures also included the extension of the day-care supply axis” explained Norbert Helmus, Managing Director of ATP health.
A Cardiac Centre with three cardiac catheterization laboratories was built to one side of the day-care spine and a medical imaging technology facility with CT and MRT to the other. At the same time, the central laboratory was transferred to the new location and a cafeteria with 200 places was also built.
In addition to the refurbishment and extension of the OP center and a link building, the new care units represent an important milestone on the way to completing the ambitious general refurbishment of the Westpfalz Clinic in Kaiserslautern. APF Architektenpartner Frankfurt (today‘s ATP health) was first commissioned to carry out the work as a result of its success in an ideas and construction competition in 1991.
