ATP architects engineers supports integration project 'Locugee: awakening potentials'
ATP architects engineers' annual Christmas donation goes to 'Locugee: awakening potentials' of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) in Vienna. With a donation of 20,000 euros, ATP supports the work of Father Martin Rauch S.J. and his team to promote integration.
Perspectives for the future through language
“Locugee: awakening potentials“ is an initiative that helps refugees to quickly establish themselves in Austria and find a new home. The term “Locugee” is a combination of “Local” and “Refugee” and stands for promoting encounters between refugees and locals through shared accommodation, language courses, and job placement. “The focus of our commitment is clearly on the acquisition of the German language,” explains Father Martin Rauch, the initiator of the project. “Because through language we create perspectives for a new life. We want to empower people to take their future into their own hands. Because life is not what it is, but what we make of it”, adds Father Martin inspired by the words of Viktor Frankl.
In autumn 2024, 117 students participate in the German courses of the project. In addition, the team of “Locugee” offers courses on democracy and the fundamental values of Western society. ATP's donation helps cover the personnel costs for the language teachers as well as rent and operating costs for the classrooms.
Support for socially relevant projects
Every year, one of the 14 European ATP planning locations selects a social project in its vicinity to provide targeted assistance. This year, ATP Vienna endorses supporting the JRS – Jesuit Refugee Service: “The successful commitment of the team around Father Martin deeply impresses us. We are pleased to contribute with our donation to help homeless people integrate quickly in Austria and build a new life for themselves”, says the management of the Vienna ATP office, Petra Maier and Christian Pagitsch, during the check handover.

ATP architects engineers is the leading office for Integrated Design in Europe, employing 1,500+ staff at 14 locations in the DACH+CEE region. Through this form of Corporate Giving, ATP architects engineers supports long-term social commitments or projects and institutions of socio-political interest that have a positive impact in the regions of the ATP locations.
