ÖGNB Gold for tz3
Top Rating for Building 3 of the Technology Center Seestadt
Another flagship project at the innovation site Seestadt Aspern: Component 3 of the Technology Center Seestadt achieves the highest certification level of the ÖGNB with 943 out of 1,000 points. The evaluation confirms the high quality of our Integrated Design throughout the entire lifecycle.
By achieving an ÖGNB Gold certification for the tz3, the sustainable development of the Technology Center Seestadt is consistently continued. Previously, the aspern IQ and the tz2 – also planned by ATP architects and engineers – received sustainability awards as outstanding examples of environmentally friendly planning. Overall, a campus emerged that consistently met high ecological and energy standards throughout all construction phases.

The Technology Center Seestadt exemplifies how the close collaboration between ATP and ATP sustain leads to a sustainable project success. Building certification has been an integral part of the planning from the beginning – throughout all phases. This is reflected in the excellent results.

ATP sustain
Sustainability from the Beginning of Planning
In close integrated collaboration with ATP sustain, the research company for sustainable building, ATP architects and engineers laid the foundation for an energy-efficient and resource-efficient building in the early project phase of the competition. The sustainability concept is characterized in particular by component activation, groundwater usage with heat pumps and buffer storage, photovoltaics, and efficient lighting.
To optimize energy requirements and maximize operational energy efficiency, various facade variants were created using dynamic building simulations, and a DIN18599 calculation was carried out. Additionally, life cycle cost calculations were conducted to combine ecological and economic criteria in the decision-making process.
Building certification served as the conceptual backbone: It ensured that in addition to high ecological and energy standards, room quality and user-friendliness significantly contributed to the above-average performance of the tz3 and the entire campus.

Campus for Innovation and Industry 4.0
For years, innovative buildings have been emerging in the Seestadt, designed for high quality of life and dynamic economic strength. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Technology Center Seestadt offers optimal conditions for research and development-oriented startups as well as university-affiliated institutions. The flagship project for the 240-hectare area was the award-winning Plus-Energy-House 'aspern IQ', planned integrally by ATP in 2012, was the first completed building of the Seestadt. After winning the competition in 2016 for building components 2 and 3, ATP continued the story of the Technology Center Seestadt.
The three-story new building complements the ensemble of the Technology Center Seestadt with flexibly usable spaces: the ground floor features zones for multifunctional use, while the upper floors offer office spaces that have the option of being designed as 'multifunctional use light' with increased load capacity.
