The art school takes shape

ATP supports the construction of a workshop which is unique on both the Austrian and international scene

Innsbruck, 22nd May 2015 – Around six months after ATP architects engineers presented its Christmas donation to "bilding", a facility for supporting young artistic and architectural talent in Innsbruck, the topping-out ceremony has been celebrated. Arno Ritter, Head of the Tyrolean Architecture Center "aut. architektur und tirol" and Monika Abendstein, leader of the bilding project, welcomed a range of interested visitors from the worlds of business culture and politics.

The project from aut. architektur und tirol offers children and young people a free, extra-curricular opportunity to research the areas of painting, sculpture, architecture and media art. The site lent by the City of Innsbruck is now home to a piece of transparent and ephemeral architecture which slips naturally into the texture of its green surroundings.

A number of private sponsors, partners and supporters were joined by other art-lovers to mark the unveiling of the futuristic timber construction on the edge of Innsbruck’s Rapoldi Park which was conceived and planned by students of the (ATP-designed) architecture faculty in Innsbruck: it is especially pleasing that the building was wholly financed by donations and, hence, could be swiftly and smoothly executed.

The remarkable art and architecture school for young people should start operating before the summer.
