SILLPARK
Reopening of a downtown shopping center in Innsbruck
Innsbruck, 30th September 2015 – A press conference was held to present the “new SILLPARK”, Innsbruck’s largest downtown shopping center. The architect Robert Kelca, ATP‘s partner in Innsbruck, was joined by representatives of SES, INTERSPAR and SILLPARK to guide representatives of the media through the generously enlarged mall.
“The refurbishment enabled us to successfully create a whole new spatial feeling within the center and to offer future users and operators the highest possible level of comfort,” said Kelca, outlining the integrated design services offered by ATP.
ATP Innsbruck designed both the original Sillpark and its annex in 1990 and 2007 respectively and the latest general refurbishment and facelift was completed in just ten months during which the center was able to continue normal operations. The modernization measures included the remodelling of the mall at ground floor level and a range of functional improvements as well as a complete refurbishment of the building services and security systems. Complex structural engineering measures included the removal of one of the existing triplex groups of lifts and the construction of new escalator accesses which have a very positive effect on customer orientation and customer flow. The new furniture and the special lighting concept from Bartenbach also contribute to the SILLPARK’S new generosity.
