Residential park Gebersdorf
ATP Munich wins 1st prize in the competition
Nuremberg, 13th December 2016 – The design for a residential park in Gebersdorf, Nuremberg by ATP Munich in cooperation with Logo verde convinced the jury of the urban and landscape design developer competition. This called for a concept for a peaceful and high quality district which is equally suitable for children and senior citizens.
ATP Munich designed a calm residential area which is protected from noise as a new center for the Gebersdorf district. The concept incorporates terraced homes, apartments, housing for senior citizens, childcare centers and local services as well as public green and open spaces. Given that all trees had to be retained these are integrated into a generous district square with seating, pools of water and a café which becomes a main meeting place for the surrounding population.
“The designers reacted with great discipline to the pre-existing, heterogeneous and rather suburban settlement structure of the Gebersdorf district”, reported the competition jury. Above all, they praised the well thought-out integration of the transport network. “In doing so, the two orientations of Gebersdorferstraße and Bibertstraße were taken up and combined. This generates an instinctively natural organization for the new district in which a pedestrian promenade creates a continuous green corridor.”
The floor plans of all the apartments are directly or optically connected with this central green axis which merges into the neighboring forest close to the children’s nursery.
