Opening of MAHÜ77
The refurbishment of a shopping center during ongoing operations
Vienna, 1st December 2016 – Three separate large shops in place of a mall lined with individual shops are now offered by MAHÜ77 – which was previously known as the “Generali Center”. ATP Vienna planned the rebuilding and enlargement.
“The pedestrian zone of the unusually dynamic and urban Mariahilfer Straße itself becomes the mall – the retail areas communicate directly with this busy thoroughfare and are all accessible directly from the street”, emphasized Horst Reiner, CEO of ATP Vienna.
With this retail concept ATP was able to significantly increase the rental areas and develop the building in line with contemporary trends and in the interests of the client. The existing mall was eliminated, the openings in the slab between ground and first floor closed and the connecting stairs removed.
ATP sustain guided the building to BREEAM “Excellent” sustainability certification – the first retail location in Austria to achieve this level. This award was preceded by a lifecycle cost calculation, an energy optimization and an ecological audit. In addition to a study on low-emission technologies the green spaces also underwent an ecological upgrade.
