The Austrian Sustainable Building Council certifies a residential project
Vienna, 28th January 2016 – ATP sustain laid the foundations for the success of the already multiple award-winning aspern IQ (designed by ATP Vienna) with its resource-saving energy concept. The residential project ARWAG/MIGRA D16/D17 was also accompanied through the competition and auditing process. This exceptional residential project consists of a total of four buildings containing subsidized rental and owner-occupied apartments. ATP sustain was commissioned to carry out the quality assurance of the required ÖGNB certification. The outstanding result of 903 out of 1,000 points can be traced back to not only the design and architecture but also the quality of the documentation and the execution.
The use of low-emission building materials and the design of floor plans and building elements which minimized noise pollution created a high internal quality which was confirmed through measurement after completion. In the energy and resource efficiency category the project is notable in terms of both design and execution. Constructed to an efficient low energy standard in line with EU 2020, the low heating demand of the residential building undercuts today’s building regulations by 50 per cent. The compact design and high executional quality ensure airtightness at passive house levels. In terms of lifecycle analysis the use of regional and recycled materials and products with OI3 environmental criteria and disposal indicators virtually enabled maximum points to be scored.
