Groundbreaking Ceremony at Infineon
The technology company is expanding its Villach facility
Villach, 30th September 2014 – A new building complex for research, development and production is being built at Infineon’s Villach facility. As with the expansion project of 2001, ATP Vienna is responsible for the integrated design of Infineon Technologies Austria AG’s Bau 17 building complex. Mechanical and engineering services are being designed in conjunction with SHK.
The start of construction work was celebrated during an official ceremony attended by Infineon board members and representatives of the worlds of politics and business.
The objective of the project “Pilot Space for Industry 4.0” is to establish more integrated, intelligent and automated production processes. This should be a highly flexible factory based on the combination of automated manufacturing systems and digital information technology. The products manufactured in the factory are partly capable of organizing the production process themselves and can be found at any time, anywhere along the value chain.
ATP architects engineers specializes in the design of buildings for production, research and development. In the past, ATP has designed microchip production plants for, amongst others, Simec (Infineon), ams and AMD and research and production buildings for Infineon, the system and software company BMG MIS, Böhringer Ingelheim, universities, clinics and Fraunhofer IFAM.
