Topping-Out Ceremony for LINZ NETZ GmbH

ATP designed the new grid control center for the Austrian energy service provider

Linz, 22nd September 2022It can already be seen from the A7 motorway: The new electricity and gas grid control center of LINZ NETZ GmbH, the 100% subsidiary of LINZ AG. After around 18 months on site, the imposing shell & core structure towers over Wiener Straße. Between now and the end of 2023 (Phase 1) and 2024 (Phase 2), the state-of-the-art building, which will increase the supply security for Linz and the entire surrounding area even further, will be completed in line with plans from ATP architects engineers.

The new grid control center is located very close to the LINZ AG Center and its approximately 20,000 m2 will be home to a new office and administration building for around 340 employees as well as a data center with a server room and a transformer.

Ecologically sustainable
The building services concept by ATP architects engineers pays close attention to climate-friendly design. For example, the office building has a street-facing photovoltaic façade that will supply it with its own green energy. And the generous planting of the courtyard façade will drastically reduce both fine particle and noise pollution. The office spaces are cooled by the cooling towers of the building’s innovative district cooling plant.
