Wunstorf, 19th July 2022 – The shell & core is ready, the celebratory wreath is in place, and the completion of the Clinic for Child and Youth Psychiatry is in sight. Around nine months after the groundbreaking ceremony, Tobias Schwarz, Managing Director of ATP Nuremberg, joined client representatives, local politicians and numerous guests at the topping-out ceremony at the Klinikum Region Hannover (KRH).
In the new building, which covers around 2,800 m2, up to 18 children and young people will be accommodated and treated in two stations from June 2023. Introducing the spatial concept, Tobias Schwarz commented that “our design pays special attention to the needs of the young patients. The social, play, and therapy areas flow together and are open, transparent, and flooded with light.”
The need for state-of-the-art and child-friendly therapy was also underlined by the Chair of the KRH Supervisory Board and President of the Regional Government Steffen Krach: “Children and young people with psychiatric problems need a special place that protects them in their acute situation.” The construction was preceded by an extensive design and approval process that was successfully completed thanks to excellent cooperation: “My thanks go to all those involved in the construction,” added KRH Managing Director Barbara Schulte. “We are able to celebrate this success today because of your professionalism.”
