Groundbreaking ceremony for a Krones plant in Hungary

Debrecen, 17th July 2018 “This groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of a new era for us,”were the delighted words of Pascal Männche, Managing Director of Krones Hungary Kft, as he marked the start of construction of Krones’ first Eastern European plant.

ATP Vienna has designed the production facility, which offers around 500 new jobs, in a new industrial park to the south of Debrecen for the leading German producer of machinery for the international drink and packaging industry. The 150,000 m2 site will be home to a production and administration building covering around 40,000 m2 as well as a special feature – a training center integrated into the plant. In the future, machinery and assembly parts will be produced here in a high-quality working environment with the help of “state-of-the-art” processing technologies.

The building is located close to the water table in an area of marshland. “We are able to guarantee smooth operation with the help of concrete supports lowered to depths of up to 16 meters into the sandy subsoil”, says the Lead Project Manager Rudolf Birkholz, ATP Vienna, explaining the delicate task of ensuring completely vibration-free production. The plant should commence regular production by mid-2019.
