Sveta Nedelja, 20th December 2019 – The new logistics center of the internationally active logistics experts Gebrüder Weiss, which was integrally designed by ATP Zagreb in close cooperation with the client on a site to the west of the Croatian capital, has opened after a construction period of just one year. With a gross floor area of around 21,000 m2, the facility offers a generous office wing and ample space for transshipment and delivery, as well as storage and plant areas. A dangerous goods store was also built.
Form follows function
The new logistics center convinces visitors with its functional design. “The function – perfect logistics processes – was the focus of the integrated, BIM-supported planning process for the center from the very start,” said Dario Travaš, ATP partner and Managing Director of ATP Zagreb. “It was also essential for us that the building is highly visible from all the surrounding transport routes. This conspicuousness is ensured by the orange design, which, at the same time, does nothing to disturb the visual equilibrium of the picturesque surroundings close to Zagreb.”
Despite its size, the four-story building slips harmoniously into the rolling landscape, while the silver façade of the hall enables it to merge with its surroundings. Only the orange highlights, which are central to the corporate identity of Gebrüder Weiss, occasionally penetrate the mist that is typical to the region.
