St. Petersburg, 16th March 2022 – As part of the 2nd Eurasian Congress “BIM Community 2022: People. Technologies. Strategies”, Almaz Shakirov, project leader at ATP TLP Moscow, presented a report on the subject “Data Management and BIM Scenarios”.
Data management
In his presentation, BIM expert Almaz Shakirov highlighted the lack of data management strategies in the design field. Information about a project, which a number of firms are commissioned to execute, may well be collected during each phase, but this is unlikely to reach the next contractor either partly or, indeed, at all. This problem often leads to massive data losses, to extra work, and, hence, to the inefficient use of resources. “A systematic approach to the gathering and saving of project information is essential from day one,” saysAlmaz Shakirov with conviction.
BIM2FIM
BIM models can guarantee seamless digital data transfer. In BIM2FIM, the data from the design model is transferred into the operational model, as a result of which complete, up-to-date databases are placed at the disposal of clients. One successful example of this is ELEVEN Design House in Moscow, for which ATP TLP Moscow created a BIM model for the building’s operational phase.
The congress
The more than 300 experts who participated in the congress, which was organized by NOTIM (National Association of Organizations in Information Modeling Technologies), included the heads of governmental and supervisory bodies and representatives of design organizations, the building industry, and educational institutions.
