Lekenik, 20th November 2020 – Giving children without parents not only a roof over their heads but also a safe home with love and a sense of security – that is the aim of SOS Children’s Villages. Yet every family also needs four intact walls. In Croatia, where a total of 240 children live in two SOS villages, the roofs of two family houses in the village of Lekenik were in desperate need of repair.
With its donation of 20,000 euros, ATP assumed responsibility for the urgent renovation of these roofs. “Many children will now be able to grow up in both houses and find a wonderful home there. Our appreciation of the mothers in the Children’s Villages is huge. By ensuring young people a childhood full of love they lay the foundations for a fulfilled life. We are delighted that we are able to make this small contribution to this fantastic project,” says ATP partner and Managing Director in Zagreb Dario Travaš. He and Branko Knežević, the company’s other Managing Director in Zagreb, have thrown all their weight behind this support for Lekenik Children’s Village, which is just half an hour from ATP’s office.
Winter can come
The two managing directors didn’t miss the opportunity to see the quality of the renovated roofs for themselves and to hand over a symbolic check to the director of the village Mario Čović. He underlined, “with 32 SOS family houses there’s always something to repair. As a non-profit organization we rely on external support. This generous donation from ATP is a huge relief for us. And we are also delighted by ATP’s interest in our work.”
The repairs were carried out in summer while the children enjoyed some time at the seaside. The five girls and six boys, who are aged between three and 12 and live with their SOS mothers in the two renovated houses Ciklama and Tulipan, can now look forward confidently to the wet winter.
Corporate Giving – ATP acknowledges its social responsibility

In this social engagement, ATP focuses on projects close to its own offices. For, in order to tackle social challenges in a meaningful way, local knowledge and the focused use of the available resources are essential. Hence, ATP’s offices play an important role in selecting and realizing these activities.
