A Sense of Security for Children

ATP donates to support a new orphanage in Poland

Kraków, 15th November 2023 – This Christmas, just like every year, ATP architects engineers is supporting a social (construction) project close to one of its 13 European offices. Because local knowhow and expertise ensure that help can be targeted. Hence, this year’s donation of 20,000 euros is going to a children’s center in Odporyszów, around 70 kilometers to the south of our design office, ATP Asymetria in Kraków. The idea of supporting the round-the-clock facility of the DEMOS Foundation and the organization SIEMACHA was very close to the heart of the two Managing Directors of ATP Asymetria, Marek Borkowski and Witold Gilewicz: “We are delighted that our donation is improving the living conditions of children in need. The long-term commitment of the DEMOS and SIEMACHA Foundations to children in distress in Poland is socially invaluable and we are grateful that we are able to make our own small contribution.”

Giving children a home
The complex in Odporyszów – whose ten-hectare site is home to the orphanage, a day-care facility, and a sporting and riding center – provides a home to 40 orphans and child refugees from Ukraine, while also offering day care to a further 100 children. An additional home for 14 young children with motoric and intellectual impairments is now under construction. The guests at the opening ceremony, who were welcomed by the Founder and President of DEMOS and SIEMACHA Andrzej Augustyński, included the two Managing Directors of ATP Asymetria. “The donation from ATP has enabled us to co-finance the fitting out of the new home and to offer safe and protective surroundings to children who have been subject to considerable abuse,” said Augustyński.

About the aid organizations
The DEMOS Foundation and the organization SIEMACHA have been working on behalf of children who are facing difficult living conditions, poverty, or illness, for 30 years. DEMOS provides and equips the facilities, while SIEMACHA runs the institutions on a daily basis. Due to the quality of their work, both DEMOS and SIEMACHA are amongst the country’s leading aid organizations; they support a total of 2,500 children and senior citizens in 37 modern facilities across Southern Poland.

Corporate Giving – ATP accepts its social responsibility
Every Christmas, ATP contributes to the common good by making a donation to a project or an institution that plays an important socio-political role. In demonstrating this social commitment, ATP focusses on projects that are located close to its design offices in the DACH and CEE regions. Hence, the individual ATP offices play a key role in the selection of the recipients and the realization of the donations.
