Samobor, 3rd September 2020 – Ivana Božić Valkaj (Lead Project Manager) and Dario Travaš and Branko Knezevic (Managing Directors, ATP Zagreb) joined Eurospin Hrvatska d.o.o. to celebrate the opening of their retail outlet in the town of Samobor close to the Slovenian border – with the help of some yellow and blue balloons and a Croatian ski star. This is the third store to be opened by the Italian food discounter in a very short period. Eurospin’s aim is to open around 100 stores as it expands across Croatia in the next few years. As part of this rollout, ATP Zagreb has been commissioned with the design of six stores, mostly in the north of the country.
Integrated design with BIM makes it possible to pick up on the previous design work of third-party planners and propose any optimization or potential new solutions. As a result, ATP was able to realize the buildings in just a few months. Alongside the store in Samobor, further ones in Požega, Velika Gorica, Zagreb/Branimirova, and Križevci have been or are still to be opened in 2020. The store in Bjelovar will follow in spring 2021.
In line with the standards of the brand, these stores are single-story rectangular buildings with extensions. The brick façade is conceived to create a domestic atmosphere, while the skylights and special light fittings should flood the interiors with light. All buildings have an A+ energy certificate.
Under the motto “Smart Shopping”, Eurospin intends to make an impact in Croatia with its own range in the food and nonfood areas. However, its program of cooperation with local suppliers should ensure that its shelves are also stocked with regional products.
