Digitalization Creates Transparency!

ATP CEO Christoph M. Achammer on the future of the construction sector

Berlin, 31st August 2021 – The 5th German Design & Build Conference took place following a year-long pause made necessary by corona. The symposium is regarded as one of the construction and real estate industry’s leading fora. The thematic focuses were building efficiently abroad, architecture, and digitalization.
In his lecture, ATP CEO Professor Christoph M. Achammer delivered a passionate plea for the digital transformation of the construction sector: “Digitalization creates transparency. And transparency creates trust between clients and designers. This trust is absolutely essential for, although design is the smallest cost factor in a project it has the greatest influence upon the overall costs.” However, emphasized Achammer, only a genuine day-to-day culture of integrated cooperation between all design disciplines permits a productive, digital way of working. In addition to this, the architect sees the future of the construction sector in verticalization. This is a prerequisite for all industrial processes and, hence, represents great opportunities for the sector, such as the opportunity to reduce the current high levels of wastage on building sites.
