Innsbruck, 1st September 2016 – The company’s management team has been joined by Thomas Herter, a building services specialist with 25 years’ experience of interdisciplinary cooperation and sustainable building. This means that the area of building services is now being managed company-wide for the first time.
As a Managing Director of Arup Herter led the German Group with around 150 employees in three offices (Berlin, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt) in the areas of building services and structural engineering, project management, façades, building physics and fire protection.
Born in Heidelberg he studied energy and process engineering at Berlin University of Technology with a focus on heating and air conditioning technology before working in Germany and internationally in the area of building services design. His projects include the energy and air conditioning concept for the 44-story European Central Bank in Frankfurt, the new building of the BND in Berlin, the 700,000-square-meter Setun Hills Business Park in Moscow, the remodeling of Galeria Kaufhof on Alexanderplatz in Berlin and the general planning of the new government hospital in Tiflis.
