Moscow, 19th August 2020 – Every year, the Russian Construction Ministry organizes the open “BIM Technologies” competition with the aim of identifying the best BIM specialists and making these known across Russia. Over 100 projects were submitted to this year’s competition, of which 25 made the shortlist and seven received awards.
ATP TLP Moscow has two reasons to celebrate. ATP’s Russian office was the winner in the category “Information Modeling for Industry Buildings” for the Miratorg production facility in Kursk and was also awarded second place in the category “Digital Modeling in Revitalization” for the MEGA Belaya Dacha Family Shopping Center. The professional jury particularly emphasized the interdisciplinary and inter-office cooperation in the ATP-network.
With a gross built volume of 150 hectare meters and a gross floor area of 250,000 m2 the Miratorg plant in Kursk is one of Russia’s largest current building projects. “The construction of such large high-tech buildings is a wide-ranging and complex task that not every architectural office can master,” says Vladimir Horton, Managing Director of ATP’s Moscow office, describing his close cooperation with ATP Innsbruck and foodfab, ATP’s consulting subsidiary for the food industry. A total of more than 100 architects and engineers, including 75 ATP employees, contributed to the realization of the giga project. “It was only possible to successfully design and build a high-tech project of this scale and complexity with the help of integrated design with BIM,” emphasized Horton.
Digitalization at ATP
ATP is one of Europe’s leading integrated design offices and has been planning all its projects with Building Information Modeling (BIM) since 2012. In this system, all the architectural, technical, physical, and functional characteristics of a building are illustrated in a central digital twin of the future structure. The BIM standard that has been developed by ATP over several years is part of the Austrian BIM norm (ÖNORM A 6241) and has been placed by ATP at the disposal of all market participants via the BIMpedia knowledge platform.
