Wiener Neudorf, 13th March 2019 – After 10 months on site the second phase of the Austrian Headquarters of ABB, which was integrally designed by ATP Vienna, has opened its doors to allow numerous guests from the worlds of politics and business to take a first look. Client representatives, Lower Austria’s Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport, Petra Bohuslav, and the Mayor of Wiener Neudorf, Herbert Janschka, joined Horst Reiner, ATP Partner in Vienna and his team to celebrate the completion of the state-of-the-art corporate headquarters. The building meets the latest technological standards and was designed in a particularly resource-friendly and energy-efficient manner.
“Our new corporate headquarters offers 340 employees a modern workplace with state-of-the-art technology”, was the delighted reaction of Franz Chalupecky, Chairman of the Board of ABB, at the opening ceremony. The new office building, which is the second phase of the project following ATP’s completion of the assembly hall for robots, brings together all areas of business as well as the central functions of ABB Austria under a single roof. The concept for the new, four-story, L-shaped building is a highly flexible response to the varying needs of the leading global technology company.
The administration building and assembly hall form an architectural ensemble. “Skillful functional organization and the connection with the existing building enabled us to produce a coherent overall concept. The two built elements create a representative overall image that also reflects the corporate identity of ABB,” says lead project manager Hannes Achammer (ATP Vienna). The focus of the design is the feel-good factor of the workplaces and a high level of daylight. The flexible office plans include open plan, individual, and shared offices as well as dedicated quiet rooms for meetings. In addition to the striking design the building is given identity by the consistent use of ABB products, especially in the building automation and intelligent building services management systems.
