Mannheim, 29th April 2022 – The shell & core were built in just 13 months. And now the “ABB Campus”, which was integrally designed with BIM by ATP Frankfurt, is in the completion phase.
The guests at the on-site party included the construction engineer Harald Stieber, Managing Director of ATP Frankfurt, and his ATP team. In his speech he underlined the excellent cooperation with ABB:It is a pleasure to develop an architecturally outstanding, efficient, and sustainable “smart building” with a client who has equally high expectations for the quality of their intelligent products. “Thanks to integrated design with BIM, we were able to very rapidly not only model an excellent building but also build it to roof level.”
Sustainable innovation center
With almost 30,000 m2, the ABB Campus will offer workspaces to around 1,300 employees. The building is designed to encourage multifunctional cooperation, forward-looking developments, and customer-oriented solutions. And the smart building is also a showcase for ABB’s own intelligent products and systems. The digital technologies incorporated in the building automation and energy distribution systems make a major contribution to energy efficiency, decarbonization, and saving resources.
Upon completion in early 2023, the 28-meter-high building, with its almost 1,000 windows and 815 doors, 50 km of pipes, 400 km of cables, 290 square meters of photovoltaic modules, and 12 ventilation plants will be an extremely smart location – in terms of sustainability and efficiency – and will offer a user experience of incomparable quality.
