BIM – all in one

BIM as a new challenge for architects and designers

Dresden, 2nd July 2015 – Under the motto “Digital & Global? – Architecture in the Age of Information and Knowledge” this year’s sixth Heinze ArchitekTOUR presented a series of interesting lectures as it travelled around Germany. During the course of June and July over 1,000 architects and designers in seven German cities were able to learn more about the business of designing and building in the age of information and knowledge from a mixture of speakers from the world of architecture as well as manufacturers of building and infrastructure products.

Dr.-Ing. Gerd Maurer was invited to speak on the subject of “BIM - all in one: Digital Integrated Design”. BIM (Building Information Modeling) enables professionals to meet the continuously evolving challenges posed by our ever increasingly digital and international knowledge society to architects and builders as they design and construct buildings. Against this background, the advantages of BIM for clients are becoming ever more obvious: sustainable quality, cost-effective design and cost security.
