22nd Industrial Building Seminar

Expert Conference at Vienna University of Technology

Vienna, 1st – 3rd July 2015 – The title of this year’s edition of the biennial seminar of the Institute for Industrial Building and Interdisciplinary Construction Planning was "Integrated Design for Industrial Building 4.0". The Head of the Chair Professor Christoph M. Achammer and assistant Prof. Dr. Iva Kovacic had invited international experts to use "Industry 4.0" as an example for the challenges facing the interdisciplinary design process.

“The merging of information and communication technology with the real world is the starting point for the 4th Industrial Revolution. Industrial production in batches of one offers the first real opportunity to think about building in an industrial way”, is how Christoph Achammer explained the theme.

This year’s seminar was opened by a day organized by doctoral students as a platform for young researchers to discuss ongoing research into integrated design, modeling, simulation and analysis and industrial production in the area of the overall subject “Industry 4.0”.

The presentations by invited architects, engineers, scientists and users provided the focus of the two-day program.
