WELL Certification in Gold
The Headquarters of Markas, which were integrally designed by ATP Innsbruck, have become the first building in Italy to be awarded WELL Building Standard gold certification.
The focus of the office building is very consciously directed towards promoting the health and well-being of its users at their workplaces. Highly-flexible, column-free office and relaxation areas and an intensively planted garden level are central elements of the recuperative und natural character of the building. A pool of water that is used to support adiabatic cooling improves the thermal comfort and the air quality in the external areas. More than half of the usable area enjoys a daylight factor of over 2.0. In addition to this, the entire building is equipped with tunable white LEDs, whose color changes in line with the natural lighting rhythm throughout the day.
About the certification
The WELL Building Standard was launched in 2014: It investigates the qualities that buildings offer to their users in such categories as air, water, nutrition, light, fitness, comfort, and their impact on mental and spiritual well-being. The certification has to be confirmed every three years.
