New building for the municipal offices, Vomp

1st prize, invited single-stage realization competition

ATP sphere was victorious in an invited realization competition for the new building of the municipal offices in Vomp. The concept envisages a building which slots harmoniously into the village structure and makes full use of both the difficult urban planning situation and the form and changing levels of the site.

The new building volumes form a strong and self-confident ensemble. The façades play with the materiality of a Tyrolean village while the composite reinforced concrete, glass and timber construction was conceived to meet the special structural requirements. One special feature is the light construction of the large meeting room and the library. These can be easily completed or occupied as required. Both spaces can be accessed separately and offer many possible uses.

Space at ground floor level was designed for the use of a local retail outlet. A large shop window offers gallery-like views and connects the lower forecourt with the upper road. The route through this retail space is detailed like a village street. The public areas are accessible from the square on the lower road through the village.

Organizer: Municipality of Vomp

Competition Team: Klaus Gebhart, Marc Mark, Caroline Ohnmacht, Paul Ohnmacht, Anna Rainer
