ATP Vienna is honored for the G3 Shopping Resort Gerasdorf: The shopping center with the wave-formed roof receives an honorable mention.
The seven-strong jury for the Lower Austrian Timber Building Prize 2014, with experts from the areas of structural engineering, architecture and timber building, awarded ATP Vienna an honorable mention for the G3 Shopping Resort Gerasdorf.
The spectacular timber roof structure is part of a six hectare roof landscape from timber which is supported on 710 columns of up to 20 meters in height. It is built from laminated timber beams of up to 80 meters in length and columns of up to 20 meters in height. 11.500 m3 of timber were used in the construction of the roof which will also contain a bird/insect habitat of 3.000 square meters. The CO2 in the timber represents a reduction in CO2 emissions of 23.000 tons.
