2nd Prize Feldblumenstrasse, Regensdorf, CH
ATP kfp Zurich wins 2nd Prize for a Competition in Regensdorf.
April 2011 - The site is the first of three large intersecting plots on which a series of large multiple-occupancy residential blocks are carefully arranged. Six blocks with a total of 140 apartments are creatively spread around the site in such a way that their wings enclose generously inviting areas of landscaping. The varied designs of these “Pocket Parks” of maple trees establish the mood both between and within the buildings. Variously themed childrens playgrounds and a playfield enjoy the shadow of the trees.
A light-filled staircase with a strong relationship with the outside gives access to the apartments which open in two or three directions. The long diagonal and the open-plan living and eating area which continues out onto the balcony gives the apartments a true sense of space.
The efficiency of the circulation spaces which allow the four or five apartments on each floor to be accessed directly from the stair core makes the building particularly economic. The careful detailing, harmonic colour scheme and excellent internal air quality ensure that the residents feel comfortable in their new home.
