BigSEE Award

Recognition for the interior design of the magdas industrial kitchen

The industrial kitchen in Vienna that was integrally designed by ATP Vienna and ATP sustain for magdas Social Business – a subsidiary of Caritas – has received the BigSEE Interior Design Award.

Because sustainability is also “tasty” to the eye of the designer!
magdas focuses on people and offers a modern working space with a high level of visual, acoustic, and thermal comfort. The modern and minimalist interior design is rooted in a holistic re- and upcycling concept. Easily available, fully functional materials and recycled wood were upgraded and reused with an extreme attention to detail.
Another “recycled” element is the heat recovered from the kitchen and the cooling plant: The retention of this heat in the system means that no additional energy sources are required. magdas has already been awarded gold certification by the Austrian Sustainable Building Council (ÖGNB) for its role as a model energy solution.
