MAPIC nomination
DO Croatia shortlisted for a design award
The Designer Outlet Croatia, which was integrally designed by ATP Zagreb, convinced the preliminary jury of the MAPIC Awards and was included on the shortlist of finalists in the category “Best Outlet Centre 2018”.
“The nomination of the shopping village for the sought-after MAPIC Award shows that well-thought-out and attractive architecture is also highly important in the retail sector. This success is an honor for us and highlights the excellent cooperation within the group” said the architect and ATP partner in Zagreb, Dario Travaš.
A visit to the “open shopping village” is not only a stroll through the designer world but also, in a certain sense, a tour of the architecture of Croatia. The materials typical to the country, which were integrated into the design, emulate the diverse building styles of Croatia’s various regions.
The picturesque Designer Outlet is also notable for its level of sustainability: Due to the support of the consulting company ATP sustain it was the first center of its sort in Croatia to obtain a BREEAM certificate for environmentally and resource-friendly implementation.
Established in 1996, the MAPIC Awards are presented annually during the retail real estate trade fair of the same name and are amongst the sector’s best known honors. This year’s jury placed a special focus on excellence, innovation, and creativity in the design of retail buildings.
