Zagreb, 20.07.2017 – ATP Zagreb is planning a designer outlet with an urban feel in the southeast of the Croatian capital. The ATP team has now celebrated the laying of the foundation stone together with the investors (IKEA Centres, ROS Retail Outlet Shopping and the Mutschler Group). Among the many guests at the event were future tenants representatives of local and state authorities, as well as representatives of professional associations, including Croatian chamber of economy, Croatian Employers` Association and Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
DO Croatia, that is planned to open its door for the first visitors in spring 2018, is particularly notable for its urban concept, inspired by the specific building techniques and styles of Croatia’s various regions. The shops, restaurants, and bars lining the ‘streets’ are evocative of a small town which has evolved organically, while the typical Dalmatian stone façades with their green shutters offer visitors the sensation of ambling through the old town of Dubrovnik.
ATP Zagreb’s integrated design of the Designer Outlet Croatia was developed in close cooperation with ATP sustain with the objective of obtaining one of the first BREEAM certifications for a shopping centre of this type in Croatia. Special foundations on piles – of which 1,300 have already been poured – will be partly used to capture geothermal energy. There are also plans for a 1,500-square-meter photovoltaic plant on the roof and a reservoir dedicated to the collection of rainwater. The project is characterized by ecological measures such as improving biodiversity, selecting material, improving individual return or environmentally friendly construction work.
