The pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim is investing in a sustainable future for its Vienna site. Just a few minutes' walk from the main site, a new office and administration building for up to 990 employees is being built at the corner of Altmannsdorfer Straße and Breitenfurter Straße. The new construction will allow currently leased spaces to be vacated, while at the Meidling location valuable areas will be freed up for future investments.
Work environment of tomorrow
Diverse office spaces and a modern meeting landscape extend over seven upper floors. The offices are tailored precisely to the needs of the employees, offering a colorful mix: from Open Creative Meeting Areas, retreat areas, enclosed Phone Booths to traditional meeting rooms, there are various options available for focused, communicative, or creative work. A green courtyard with a spacious terrace invites lingering.
Sustainable energy concept
Sustainability plays a central role in this project. Together with ATP sustain, we are aiming for LEED certification as well as a gold-level klimaaktiv declaration. A geothermal system covers the heating demand in winter, provides sufficient hot water, and ensures pleasant room temperatures in summer. In total, 90 geothermal probes were anchored at a depth of 150 meters at the start of construction. PV panels will be installed on the roofs and facades. Additionally, "green" concrete is being used, which causes significantly fewer CO₂ emissions during production than traditional types of concrete.
