Vienna, 17th January 2019 – Barely six months after the groundbreaking ceremony the shell of phase 2 of Seestadt Technology Centre (tz2) has now been completed. As a prequel to the opening, this represents an important milestone for the clients in what is perhaps Austria's most ambitious urban development project.
Little appears to stand in the way of the centre being completed on-time. "We are currently right on schedule and optimistic about opening tz2 in summer", said Gerhard Hirczi, Managing Director of the Vienna Business Agency, at the topping-out ceremony.
As soon as it is open the new tenants of the multifunctional building will come and do justice to the motto of the project: "Those with vision need a place in which they can flourish".
The multifunctional production spaces of the innovative complex measure between 60 and 255 m2 and should provide companies focusing on the area of innovative technologies with a new home for their production machinery, high-tech equipment, and co-working spaces. In future they will be able to work as close neighbors of such important players as the Industry 4.0 pilot factory, HOERBIGER, Atos, ASCR, and the EIT Manufacturing Hub.
In 2016 ATP Vienna won a Europe-wide architecture competition for the expansion of Seestadt Technology Centre and, in cooperation with ATP sustain, was able to surpass the high sustainability requirements of the Seestadt and receive ÖGNB Gold certification as a result of their energy and resource-saving measures.
