Cologne, 1st March 2021 – “Today is a good day for KV Nordrhein,” said a delighted KVNO Chairman Frank Bergmann to mark the start of construction of the new district headquarters. From winter 2022, around 450 employees will find a new workplace in the 12,800 square meter facility on the site of the former airport in the Cologne district of Ossendorf. The design for the elegant building with the innovative office concept comes from ATP architects engineers in cooperation with M.O.O.CON, the specialists for organizational and object development.
The new building represents an important component of the forward-looking development of the KV into a modern and service-oriented service provider. “Our ambition in designing the building was to create comfortable offices, which generate a ‘we-feeling’ amongst the employees,” says Harald Stieber, Managing Director of ATP Frankfurt, describing the modern office concept. The five stories will be home to an attractive working environment, which will also include a restaurant with a roof terrace, a fitness area, and an in-house childcare facility.
In selecting the building materials, the energy supply, and the building management strategy the ATP-design team paid particular attention to sustainability and the saving of resources.
