BigSEE Award
Award for Premium Camping Zadar in the catgeory “Public and commercial architecture”
The campsite in Zadar that was designed by ATP Zagreb has not only received this year’s BigSEE Architecture Award, but also been nominated for the Grand Prix Award 2022.
Sculptural design
The “fragmented” style of the buildings and broad, cantilevered roofs integrate the architecture into the nature. The sculptural form of the buildings allows them to be seen from afar and act as elements of orientation in the constantly changing topography of the camp. With its special form, the dominant entrance pavilion blurs the boundary between inside and outside. Glazed areas of façade follow the outline of the roof and provide maximum levels of daylight. The centerpiece of the camp is the restaurant and wellness complex, whose distinctive roof, which is accompanied by the geometry of the building and the rhythm of the glazed facades, continues the theme of sculptural design.
