Future-Proof Healthcare

Urban Hospital, Fürth

After winning a competition, we were commissioned with the reorganization, reconstruction, and expansion of the hospital complex in three construction phases between 1980 and 2003.

Project data

Pleasant lighting, warm color scheme, and a consistent connection to the outdoor space characterize the Städtische Klinikum Fürth. In the renovation and reorganization, we placed the focus on people and their needs. The result is a relaxed, friendly building complex that radiates security and a homely atmosphere.

Renovation and expansion were carried out in three phases. In the 1st phase, the new building was designed as a greened structure with a comb-like floor plan. The main building was renovated and expanded into a care facility in the 2nd phase. The new children's clinic and the extension of the intensive care unit were done in the 3rd phase.
