Function- and usage-optimized hospital complex
Oberlausitz-Klinikum Bautzen
The 3rd construction phase creates new functional areas and simultaneously integrates existing structures. Two previously autonomous functioning clinics are combined into a cohesive, function- and usage-optimized hospital complex. Interdisciplinary collaboration is strengthened.

The subdivision of the construction phase is designed based on the core processes. Examination and treatment rooms for both inpatient and outpatient patients are located next to laboratory areas, transfusion medicine, conference rooms, and a cafeteria in the new building. On the first floor, the pediatric care station has its own outdoor play area on the rooftop terrace. On the second floor, the care station for the women's clinic is situated, and on the third floor for geriatrics.
The main functional area of the hospital, the mother-child center, is designed to provide contemporary medical care, with an appearance that conveys a friendly and light-filled atmosphere to children and women. The center's specific patient clientele is particularly considered through compact organization and child-friendly clinic design.
