Urban. Green. Diverse.
Eichplatz Jena
Our concept for an inner-city district with a high quality of stay on a site that has been vacant for 40 years in the center of Jena won the realization competition.

The main focus of the architectural concept lies in the design quality of the buildings. Classic architecture is combined with modern trends. All building masses are structured in a small-scale manner to integrate into the historical architecture of the surroundings. The loosened facades reflect the originality and structural features of the adjacent Old Town of Jena.
The project aims to become a "green urban district with high quality of stay" and to offer high living quality for future generations through urban diversity. A stimulating mix of residential, commercial, gastronomy, and public spaces provides streets for strolling, inviting squares for lingering, green courtyards, and terraced rooftop gardens. The plan includes approximately 100 apartments and 30 retail spaces.
The sustainable overall concept reduces CO2 emissions and ensures permanently low operating costs.
After a multi-stage competition for the approximately 1.5-hectare site, our concept was selected by the Jena City Council for implementation.
