Building automation

The status quo and the future of building automation - a presentation at the AUSBAU 13 Seminar at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.

Augsburg, 14.04.2013 - Torsten Rink, Group Leader Elektro, ATP architects engineers, Munich gave a presentation entitled “Building Automation: Possibilities and Use in the Industrial and Domestic Sectors “ which addressed the status quo of and opportunities for the future of building automation as part of the AUSBAU13 seminar at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. According to Rink, “there is a clear tendency towards incorporating ever more features such as maintenance and production control processes into integrated building operations. In this process, new norms offer more potential for increasing the efficiency of both individual measures and, indeed, entire buildings.”

One possible scenario for increasing the efficiency of building automation is, for example, the use of anticipatory equipment management using weather forecasting. Potential future developments in the domestic sector include environmental developments and such help functions as those which protect both equipment and systems against hackers.
