LED Production

The extension to the production facility of the lighting company Zumtobel has been opened. The new LED production and office building also serves as a showroom.

Dornbirn, 5th February 2014 – The new building within the production complex at Zumtobel’s headquarters was presented to the public during a press conference. “The hall fully meets the requirements for modern LED production”, said Ulrich Schumacher, CEO of the Zumtobel Group. The new building makes it possible for the lighting manufacturer to grow further in the area of LED technology.

“We are proud of the fact that we have successfully completed this building project within timetable and budget,” emphasized Herwig Burtscher, Operations Director of the Dornbirn lighting plant.

Matthias Wehrle, the responsible project leader of ATP kfp Zürich, pointed out the architectural and structural engineering achievement represented by the 14.5 meter high hall: it has a free span of 37.5 meters over its entire length of 90 meters. The whole area is free of columns in order to guarantee maximum flexibility. A crane runway capable of carrying 30 tons covers virtually the entire area of the hall. The two-story administrative area also runs the entire length of the building.

The production hall is exclusively lit with LED lights, and the design also emphasizes the optimal use of natural daylight. Hence, the hall and its lighting solution has become a very special showroom for clients from all over the world.
