Technical Faculty of the University of Innsbruck rewarded for its high level of energy efficiency
Innsbruck, 23rd November 2015 – As part of an official event, the Federal Minister Andrä Rupprechter presented the klimaaktiv Gold Standard to the Technical Faculty. The Federal Ministry’s highest award for energy efficient building celebrates optimum energy and ecological quality in conjunction with professional execution.
Newly remodeled and completely refurbished by ATP, the faculty building was awarded 1,000 out of a possible total of 1,000 quality points, which marks it out as a key pioneer in the field of energy efficiency.
Gerald Hulka, an ATP partner in Innsbruck, and Matthias Kröss, ATP’s project leader, accepted the award, “this symbol of quality shows that we have transported the existing 1960’s building into the 21st century in terms of both energy and ecology.”
The klimaaktiv building plaque from the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW) rewards buildings for their achievements in the field of climate protection. Alongside energy efficiency, it also rewards high quality in the areas of design and execution, building materials and construction and comfort and internal air quality. Such buildings make an important contribution to reducing energy demand and improving quality of life.
