A more attractive INTERSPAR

Sparkling refurbishment project for a shopping center in Mistelbach.

Mistelbach, 22nd November 2016 – the guests at the opening party of the new INTERSPAR were impressed even before their arrival by the new external appearance of the market with its flowing façade. The event offered visitors the opportunity to fully experience the contemporary architecture – especially the impressively bright interior.

“Our aim for the refurbishment was that it would offer customers a completely new image for the INTERSPAR market, free from any memories of the previous building. Forms, colors and materials were selected to create an appearance quite unlike that of a merely functional building – even approaching the center is an experience in itself, said ATP’s Lead Project Manager, Andreas Schaller.

In addition to increased attractiveness the client demanded an optimization of the floor areas which was made possible by completely gutting the interior. The division of the project into a series of phases and interim solutions meant that the center could continue operating for customers and the client throughout the refurbishment.

The refurbishment also lead to a doubling of the lifecycle of the building and a reduction in  CO2 emissions of around 25 % and, hence, a huge improvement in the ecological footprint.
