Groundbreaking ceremony for residential tower
ATP’s design for a tower containing 80 apartments is being realized
Ingolstadt, 29th September 2016 – Ingolstadt’s Mayor joined the clients and representatives from ATP to break ground for the construction of the IN-Tower, the city’s latest landmark. The 50-meter-tower, which is based on a competition-winning design by ATP Munich, will be completed by summer 2018. The base adopts the height of the surrounding buildings and contains several shops at ground floor level.
According to ATP architect Florian Beck, “we are realizing a building which is extraordinary for Ingolstadt and are well aware of our urban design responsibility. The base building very consciously respects the existing urban fabric while the tower, with its white striped façade, will ensure high levels of recognition while blending harmoniously into its surroundings.”
The architecture of the tower was particularly important to the city authorities. The design was developed together with the design advisory committee during the course of many discussions which left all participants highly satisfied. As the new gateway to Ingolstadt the IN-Tower represents a modern, urban quartier with all the advantages of a downtown location without any reduction in quality of life. As Ingolstadt’s first high-rise building it will shape the city’s skyline and make it possible to “live above the city’s rooftops”. The view of the historic old town and surrounding parkland is outstanding.
