BIM in industrial building

Neuburg/Donau – 21^st February 2013– “Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Industrial Building – from the Designer’s Point of View“ was the title of an address about the use of digital building models in integrated design delivered by Dr. Gerd Maurer to a conference of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Industriebau Süd (AGI RK Süd). Used as a design tool in the integrated design process, BIM enables key participants to optimise their level of cooperation – from the very first design idea. Interdisciplinary teams of architects and engineers work on the same virtual data model of a building – a process which facilitates synchronised design, a transparent planning process, lower coordination costs and the focus of activities on the exercise of core competences.
