"Very Good" according to BREEAM
Completion of the BREEAM certification process
Gerasdorf bei Wien, 6th August 2013– The G3 Shopping Resort Gerasdorf was still on the drawing board when the client decided that the building should be assessed and certified in line with the BREEAM building certification system. As a result of this the building was investigated, accompanied, optimized and evaluated by ATP sustain.
This certification process has now been completed and the building has been awarded a “Very Good” BREEAM certificate, which points to the holistic quality of the project in nine areas. A Green Building Guide recommending specific sustainability-related criteria was presented to the tenants in G3.
BREEAM: Developed in Great Britain in 1990, BREEAM© (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is a building certification system that establishes an international benchmark for the sustainable design, construction and operation of buildings. The BREEAM rating system has five certification levels: Pass, Good, Very Good, Excellent and Outstanding. These certification levels are defined by the total of evaluation points in the following nine categories: construction management, health and wellbeing, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, land use and ecology and pollution.
