Dresden/Online, 15th November 2020 – What is the new series of guidelines VDI 6010? What help is offered by the new standardization? And what are the advantages for designers, executing companies, site supervisors, and testing organizations? These questions were addressed by Jörg Balow, Managing Director/Engineering of ATP Berlin and Chairman of the Guidelines Committee in his lecture to the 21st EIPOS Fire Protection Experts’ Seminar. Together with leading experts, he discussed the “burning” issues in the area of fire protection.
The increasing interconnection of building technology means that it is essential for fire protection equipment to be linked with further components and for these connections to work perfectly. Until recently, specifications for the interfaces with fire control systems were inadequate. “The new series of guidelines VDI 6010 now fills this previous gap,” says the building services expert Jörg Balow. “It provides orientation to those who design and execute fire control systems and who integrate these into building technology safety concepts and, hence, benefits everyone.” In his lecture he guided his listeners clearly through the guidelines and explained how these can ensure the overall functionality of technical equipment.
