Frankfurt am Main, 26th October 2017 – The future of shopping was the focus of this year’s Iconic Conference, at which well-known international experts present innovative projects. In his lecture Ulf Bambach, Managing Director of ATP Frankfurt, offered an exciting glimpse into “The Retail Space of the Future” using the example of the EDEKA flagship store at Gaimersheim.
“The E-Center is a further development of an architectural idea as well as the reinterpretation of the place, not only as a place for selling but also a place for coming together and communicating a sense of well-being combined with the trends of the digital world,” said Bambach, presenting the Southern Bavarian supermarket. The focus of his lecture was EDEKA’s innovative corporate architectural concept which is shaped by its constructional approach, its positive contribution to the subject of sustainability and its innovations at the POS. With the help of current examples he transferred the concept developed by ATP to other retail forms and demonstrated how food shopping can become an experience.
ATP developed its first corporate architectural concept for EDEKA Südbayern for a modern food market in 2006. ATP then reused the key details in a study initiated in 2012 which led to the development of a supermarket “for the next generation.”
