A1/IBM Next Generation Data Center

The computer center designed by ATP has catapulted Austria into the Champions League of IT infrastructure.

Vienna Floridsdorf, 5th December 2018 – Today, the visionary computer center designed by ATP Vienna became reality: After eighteen months on site A1 opened its next generation data center in the presence of numerous guests from the worlds of business and politics. “Vienna is on well on track to becoming Europe’s capital of digitalization”, was the enthusiastic reaction of Mayor Michael Ludwig to Austria’s most modern data center.

“The fact that the computer center embodies more than state-of-the-art infrastructure in every way – including environmentally – is primarily thanks to the advantages of integrated design with BIM”, explained the lead project manager and architect Birgit Reiterer, who worked with her team to guarantee the problem-free exchange and reconciliation of data during every stage of the project. The successful realization delighted not only the client A1 but also the general contractor IBM. The new computer center is not just extremely efficient and sensationally secure. It also meets all the latest standards for environmental and energy management.

“It is great to see that we have been able to make such a contribution to this vital investment in the future of Vienna as a technology location through our intelligent and long-sighted design”, said Reiterer, summing up ATP’s feeling of pride upon the opening of the center.

The project is also highly significant to ATP Vienna. It offered the design team an opportunity to expand its computer center expertise to an even higher, internationally competitive level.
