The prospects for sustainable building: A symposium with Christoph M. Achammer

Vienna, 28th June 2016 – The Energy and Environmental Technology Department of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology invited interested parties to the “Building of the Future” Symposium 2016. Speakers used the discussion to offer a glimpse into the future of sustainable building.

Professor Christoph M. Achammer, CEO of ATP architects engineers, opened the podium discussion with a keynote lecture. Under the title “Integrated Design with Creative Innovation for the Building of the Future”, he gave an impressive presentation of the concept of sustainable, lifecycle-oriented designing and building while explaining the added-value on offer for both designers and users. In particular, Achammer sees BIM as central to the future of building. The close BIM-based cooperation between client, architect and structural and building services engineer brings benefits ranging from creative solutions and the reduced use of resources to increased trust and transparency.
