Groundbreaking ceremony for robots

ATP is planning the expansion of ABB’s facility at Wiener Neudorf

Wiener Neudorf, 4th March 2016 – The energy and automation technology company ABB is putting its faith in integrated design by ATP. A ceremony has now marked the start of construction of a robot assembly hall and office building.

According to the architect Hannes Achammer of ATP Vienna: “The architecture underlines the functionality of the flexibly organized assembly hall and office building while placing a special focus on comfortable working spaces with a high quality of natural light, good spatial acoustics and draft-free cooling.”  The new building is designed to make it possible for the client to perfectly exploit synergies in its Discrete Automation and Motion Division, due to the fact that the expanded ABB facility combines expertise from along the entire length of the industrial value chain under a single roof.

The Provincial Minister for Economics, Dr.in Petra Bohuslav and Mayor Herbert Janschka were visibly impressed by the new project. In keeping with the purpose of the new building, guests at the groundbreaking ceremony were particularly amazed to see an industrial robot from ABB play an important role: as soon as each special guest had activated a switch the robot surprised everybody by digging out the first shovelful of earth.
